Continuing Education & Wellness ProgramsContents: Continuing Education ProgramsContinuing Education Program Listings If you are looking for Continuing Education Programs related to theology and ministry, we recommend two sites. The listing in the Continuing Education Plan of the Anglican Church of Canada is very comprehensive, particularly for programs offered in Canada. Another excellent site which provides information for programs in both Canada and the United States as well as in other countries is Faith and Wisdom which is supported by The United Church of Canada and The Presbyterian Church in Canada. From time to time we will highlight programs in this space in which CCTE is directly involved.
Wellness in Ministry ProgramsStarting Well: First Years in Ministry This three year program involves annual gatherings of new ministers, for reflection on their contexts and participation in collegial groups. The modular format of this program makes it possible to enter the program in any year, without having attended in previous years. The event is open to those ordained/commissioned in the last three years and to all those who participated in Starting Well for the first time in the previous two years. Learning activities will include lectures, small and large group discussions, personal reflection, worship and examination of case studies. Each participant will be asked to prepare a brief case study, according to an outline that will be provided. The event will provide opportunities for each minister to address his/her personal concerns arising out of his/her practice of ministry. Starting Well is a program of the Centre for Clergy Care and Congregational Health. It is sponsored by the Churches' Council on Theological Education: An Ecumenical Foundation, Emmanuel College, Knox College, and denominational staff in ministry and education from The Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada. For further information go to the Centre for Clergy Care and Congregational Health Web site.
